A New York police sergeant killed his Albanian wife and two children and then himself. The 4 members of the family were found dead on December 30 in their home in New York.

Police officers found Watson Morgan, 49, his wife Ornela Morgan (from Albania), 43, and their two sons, aged 10 and 12, dead.

Authorities said all four family members had gunshot wounds and a handgun was recovered at the scene.

Their bodies were discovered shortly after midnight on December 30 at the family's home in New City, a suburb of New York City, after Morgan failed to show up for his evening shift at the Bronxville Police Department.

"At this stage of the investigation it is believed that Watson killed his wife and two children before fatally shooting himself," said a statement from the Clarkstown Police Department.

Watson was an officer with the New York Police Department. Ornela Watson was a public school teacher in New York City.

Kenyatta Jones-Ariette, a friend of the Morgan family, while expressing her condolences, wrote on the social network Facebook: 'You never know what is going on inside someone's head.'
