Prime Minister Rama says he is not pressuring SPAK to arrest Erion Veliaj, but is making a legitimate request for democratic standards.

"Do you think it's normal for a serving mayor to be removed from office and taken to prison without trial, because there are suspicions. No matter how great they are, they are insufficient to bring charges before the judges. How can this be called an attack on SPAK or pressure on the court to raise a problem that is so principled, that has to do with the most legitimate request in the world for a prime minister, for the leader of a governing majority, even more so for me as the leader of a force that gave birth to SPAK. Let me not make a legitimate request for democratic standards. Not to exert pressure, but for standards," said Rama.
