After a tense session that lasted for more than 8 hours and where there were exchanges of accusations between Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and SPAK prosecutor Ols Dado, the GJKKO has decided that the mayor will remain behind bars.

Meanwhile, the measure for Ajola Xoxa has been reduced from house arrest to mandatory reporting.

The lawyers had offered financial guarantees for Erion Veliaj as well as a mandatory appearance measure for Ajola Xoxa.

Veliaj and his wife appeared at the SPAK premises in the early hours of the morning, while the session resumed at 1:30 p.m. after the lawyers requested more time to familiarize themselves with the file.

Mayor Veliaj is accused of corruption in 9 cases and money laundering...
