The news that the largest underground thermal lake has been discovered in Albania delighted many geology enthusiasts and became news in major international media outlets.
The discovery of the thermal lake in a large cave several dozen meters underground was attributed to a team of Czech explorers who carried out measurements, although it had been known as a site for several years.
But another thing has outraged Albanian citizens after this discovery near the border with Greece, but on Albanian soil.
At the entrance to the cave, there is a sign marking the location. What is striking is that the sign is bilingual, with Albanian being the second language listed.
Outraged citizens have demanded that this sign be removed immediately, as although the cave is located near the border with Greece, neither the location, nor the surrounding population, nor the exploration teams have any connection to Greece in this case.
