The moment when Veliaj leaves the GJKOO in the police van

After the Special Court upheld the security measure of imprisonment for the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, he was taken by police van to the Durrës detention center.

Meanwhile, at the moment Veliaj left the GJKKO in the police van, the mayor was greeted by his supporters who, in a few moments, blocked the police van, chanting "Lali" and throwing leaflets at the van's window.

Earlier, the court deemed the arrest measure for Veliaj legal, while changing the measure for his wife, leaving her under obligation to appear.

In Durrës detention center, Erion Veliaj will also find former minister Ilir Beqaj, who has been behind bars for several months for abusing SASPAC funds.
