The Council of Ministers has approved the decision that determines the procedures, manner and rules for the return of reserve military personnel to active service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.

The decision aims to strengthen the country's defense capabilities through a transparent process, based on the principles of equality, meritocracy, and non-discrimination.

According to the decision published on the official website of the Government, the return will take place in two main cases: 1-Increase in the number of personnel or the need for special specialties that guarantee the operationality of the Armed Forces; 2-General or partial mobilization.

How will the process work?

The Ministry of Defense will publicly announce the needs for return to service, along with the deadlines and required documentation.

The application will be made electronically through the "e-Albania" portal, within 10 days from the announcement.

Candidates will undergo a documentation verification and assessment process, followed by an interview and security check.

The decisions of the evaluation and review committees for complaints will also be communicated through the "e-Albania" platform.

The winning candidates will be reinstated in their previous rank, but will not be eligible to compete for promotion during the term of the new contract.

In cases of general or partial mobilization, the announcement will be published in the national media and candidates will be called via mail and e-mail by the Personnel-Recruitment Center.
