Fredi Beleri, who has been in prison since May 12 after being accused of buying votes, 2 days before the elections, has been in the prison hospital for 2 days after having heart problems.

Beler has been declared the winner of the elections by the CEC as the mayor of Himara, after being nominated by the Berisha-Meta coalition, but the fact that he is in prison and the inability to take the oath may be a reason for him to finally lose his mandate.

And aware of this danger, Beleri has engaged his defense lawyers to make every possible effort to gain freedom. After the appeal he made to the decision of the First Instance of the Special Court, which left him in prison on the charge of active corruption in the election carried out in cooperation, he requested the dismissal of the case, claiming that there is no evidence to include him in the criminal offense for which he is accused, Fredi Beleri has sent several other requests for a change in security measures.

Another request to declare the 'arrest in flagrante delicto' invalid has been sent to the appeal of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, that is, against the decision of the first instance of the Court of Vlora, which considered the arrest to be legal.

Another appeal is in the appeal of GJKKO for changing the security measure 'prison arrest' and his release with another milder measure.

Fredi Beleri became the first mayor in the history of local elections in our country to be elected while he is locked in a cell.
