Jet skis stranded in Saranda

The Border Police has blocked 18 vessels during the last 24 hours on the coast from Saranda to Vlora.

Most of the vehicles, 13 jet-skis, were blocked due to lack of documentation and dangerous maneuvers in prohibited areas.

Also, the police helped a ship with 200 tourists that broke down in the middle of the sea by pulling it ashore.

The action comes a few days after the fatal jet-ski accident on Llamani beach in Himare, where a 16-year-old man lost his life.

Policy Notice:

As a result of monitoring, exchange of information and coordination of actions with land patrols, as well as thanks to cooperation with citizens, the Border Police has blocked during the last 24 hours, from Saranda to Vlora, 18 vessels that were found to be illegal.

Blocked vehicles: 13 Jet Skis, 4 dinghies and 1 speedboat.   

Violations found: navigation in a prohibited area, failure to register the ownership of the vessel and lack of documentation on board.                

- In Dhërmi, Palasa, Vlora and Saranda, 13 Jet Ski boats have been blocked. One of the drivers was fined 100,000 lek for sailing in a prohibited area, as well as 20,000 lek for not registering the ownership of the boat, while the 12 other drivers were fined 10,000 lek each. , for lack of documentation.              

- In Dhërmi, Palasa, Radhimë and Vlora, 4 dinghies and 1 boat were blocked. The driver of one of the dinghies was fined 100,000 ALL for sailing in a prohibited area, while the drivers of the other 3 dinghies and the driver of the boat were each fined 10,000 ALL for lack of documentation. 

Pasditen e djeshme, Policia Kufitare e Vlorës ka marrë një telefonatë nga një shtetase, e cila kërkonte ndihmë pasi anija turistike me 200 turistë në bord, me të cilën po lundronte, kishte pësuar defekt gjatë lundrimit në det, në Vlorë. Menjëherë, shërbimet e Policisë Kufitare janë nisur me mjetet e tyre lundruese, në drejtim të adresës së dhënë. Anija turistike u nxorr në breg dhe u ankorua në portin e Vlorës. 

Gjithashtu, shërbimet e Policisë Kufitare kanë marrë njoftim se një mjet lundrues gomone kishte pësuar defekt gjatë lundrimit, në gjirin e Borshit. Shërbimet e Policisë kanë shkuar menjëherë në adresën e dhënë dhe kanë ndihmuar këta 3 shtetas, duke i nxjerrë në breg, me mjetin lundrues të Policisë Kufitare.

The passengers of the tourist boat and the 3 citizens who sailed in the rafts are all in good health. They have thanked the Police services, for the readiness and assistance they provided.

The Border Police of Vlora appeals to all boat users to follow the rules for the use of boats and to respect the designated areas for sailing with these boats, in order for them and other vacationers to be safe and calm.   

It also invites citizens to report any violation of the security perimeter and irregular use of watercraft to the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing a quick response, based on the law.
