Parashqevi Simaku's mother's will was fulfilled: the girl was found. In an exclusive interview for Top Channel, the iconic singer's brother, Arben Simaku, says that seeing Parashqevi's smile was the news of his life that lightened his heart.
Excerpt from the interview:
Ben Simaku: This is the greatest happiness of my life. Even if I die, I have no regrets about this life; because at least my mother's wish came true.
Kristi Gongo: You've been looking for it for many years?
Ben Simaku: Out of the question.
Kristi Gongo: When did your mother pass away?
Ben Simaku: She turns two in January. Like every mother; like the one who is looking for her own child there, so is my mother. As a mother, as a parent… always for the child!
Kristi Gongo: Did you recognize him the first moment the video came out?
Ben Simaku: How could I not know my sister? Who wouldn't know her? I lived with her for two years when she gave birth. In a house with her, with her husband.
Kristi Gongo: Were there any problems at that time?
Ben Simaku: Not then at all, no problem at all. Lots of happy laughter...
Kristi Gongo: And since then you broke off the relationship?
Ben Simaku: No, he came when his father died...
Years without seeing each other and a long time since the ties between them were severed. The video of the artist Parashqevi receiving social assistance was a shock for the Simaku family in Albania; but now that there is a shelter for her, there is also a gratitude and impatience to meet her. While the first phone call with her, Beni confesses that it was short but hearing her voice was like being born again…
Kristi Gongo: Have you tried to talk to Elton in this case?
Ben Simaku: I want to thank that person immensely from the bottom of my heart.
Kristi Gongo: Did you remember Ben?
Ben Simaku: I was talking to the camera. It seems to me that I was born again with the phone call… She seemed tired, we need to give her time. We only want it from a moral, psychological point of view, but financially it is no problem. As they say, 'money comes and goes, but man above all', if it is a man, he makes money again.
Kristi Gongo: Do you expect him to return?
Ben Simaku: Who is the one who doesn't wait? He has his own house in Durrës, he has his own share, his own blood. I even had the signature as the eldest to sign in her absence.
