SPAK has appealed to the Special Court of Appeal the First Instance decision that revoked the "house arrest" measure for Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha.

The Special Prosecution Office claims that the legal conditions for revoking the measure have not changed.

The leader of the Democratic Party remained isolated in his apartment for 11 months, while he gained freedom on November 27, 2024. It was Judge Flojera Davidhi who accepted the request made by the former prime minister's lawyers that there was no condition or need to continue the security measure against him, as long as the investigations have been completed.

Sali Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and 3 other people are suspected of involvement in corruption and money laundering during the privatization procedures of the "Partizani" complex.
