The arrest of the 40-year-old

An event that could have had fatal consequences was prevented by the Durrës Police Services. Citizen Lulëzim Haxhiu was handcuffed in flagrante delicto in the village of Shkallnur, after an automatic firearm "PMSH" was found in the car he was traveling in.

Thanks to the informative intelligence that a citizen was walking around with a firearm in the village of Shkallnur and was suspected of committing a crime in the family, the police services immediately organized the work to prevent the incident and capture the citizen who was walking around with a firearm.

From the real-time assessment of the information, as well as the immediate reaction of the structures of the Durrës Police, in the framework of the coded police operation "Shkallnuri", the location, capture and red-handed arrest of the citizen Lulëzim Haxhiu, 40 years old, resident of the village Shkallnur, Durrës.

During the search of the vehicle in which this citizen was driving, a PMSH automatic firearm with a magazine containing combat ammunition was found and seized.

The investigative actions showed that Lulëzim Haxhiu had left the apartment for several days, because his wife has a protection order from the Court of Durrës, since 04.05.2023, due to the violence exercised by this citizen.

It is suspected that the 40-year-old was looking for his wife to kill him, who had left the apartment together with the children. The timely intervention of the Police to arrest him prevented the serious criminal event.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions.
