Everything that can be converted into money is coveted by thieves. But also everything that is consumed, which includes not only food, but also luxury products such as tobacco and drinks.
Not even clothes, which are mainly the favorite "prey" of female thieves, or telephones are spared from the greed of thieves. In a situation of thefts that are not stopping, the police say that during the summer season they have increased patrols in the capital, as citizens move to the coast for the annual vacations.
But a young man who has been identified by the blue uniforms has left them speechless when he was discovered by security camera reviews. According to an official source at the local directorate, the young man with the initials X.LL, 26 years old, regardless of the reasons and prescriptions he lined up in front of the crime agents, will be investigated for the charge of theft.
He is accused of theft to the detriment of a businesswoman, the police informs. The denunciation of the victim was made to police number two, after the woman found out that eight chairs and two tables had been stolen from her AP bar.
The woman calculated the damage in front of the police, adding "the value of the stolen goods is 1500 euros, since I bought both the chairs and the tables in Thessaloniki, Greece and they are expensive". As evidence to convince the police, the woman left receipts for the stolen items on the table. After searching everywhere for security cameras, the police discovered the thief identified as citizen X.LL.
The police say that they interrogated the young man who, without much persistence, surrendered and showed that he had sold the chairs. In the minutes, the police write: from the inspection in the store of citizen AM, chairs and tables were found that the second businessman had not yet sold and were seized as material evidence. The young man admits that he did everything out of necessity, and that he has never stolen in his life. He denies to the police that he is a thief.
"I needed money urgently because I am sick and I need the medicine, but to buy it I need money. I passed before dawn in front of the bar and saw the chairs outside. Without thinking long, I decided to take them and sell them. I needed the money to be cured. I went and found a man with a dum dum and he was about 50 years old. I paid for the service and then found this dealer to sell to. He bought them for 70 thousand old lek. The first thing I did was buy groceries after I hadn't eaten in 3 days. I bought medicine with the others."
The thief has also specified the amount of the stolen goods.
"I want to correct the lady, there were not eight chairs but seven chairs and two tables. When I sold them, that boy asked me - don't steal them, brother. I told him no, I told him that I have a bar in my hometown and that I would bring the others to him as well."
The person who bought them remembers that although he got a bargain, he was also waiting for other chairs and other tables. "He left me a phone number, I called it more than 20 times and the phone was turned off. I felt that something was wrong until the day when the police came to my store and that's when I understood", testifies the citizen where the stolen items were found./ Source: GazetaSi
