Bankers Petroleum oil workers have continued their protest in Marinza, demanding a new agreement with the company.
In the protest organized by the Hydrocarbon sector union , oil workers, holding banners, demanded that the company's current contract not be extended without signing a new agreement that guarantees their rights.
"The strike means that we no longer work and we cross our arms. You are asking for a contract from the state, you want this company's subscription to be extended, but you will not have it. Be assured that there will be no more contracts. It can only be given to us. A new agreement is needed with us," the oil workers said during the protest.
According to them, so far there is no transparency about existing contracts and no official information about a future agreement, pushing them towards a total strike if their demands are not taken into account.
The protesters threatened to stop work until the agreement is signed, but so far there has been no reaction from Bankers Petroleum executives , while the union has warned that the strike will intensify in the coming days.
