A 54-year-old man entered the premises of Lezha Hospital, where he had gone to receive treatment, armed. During his stay in the hospital, the gun he was carrying fell out of his bag and was accidentally discharged.

After the incident, the police suspect that the 54-year-old's son, 18, hid the weapon in order to prevent the case from being solved and has been declared wanted.

An IT employee at Lezha Hospital has also been placed under investigation after it is suspected that he committed actions that prevented the full disclosure of the incident.

"Citizen GN, 54 years old, was released on bail after a firearm, suspected to be a pistol, fell from his handbag at the Lezha Regional Hospital, where he had gone to receive treatment for health problems, causing an involuntary discharge."

Following the investigative actions, his son, 18 years old, was declared wanted, as he is suspected of having hidden the firearm, with the aim of preventing the discovery of the truth.

"Also, a hospital employee (IT employee), citizen AV, 54 years old, was criminally prosecuted while at large, as he is suspected of having committed actions that impede the discovery of the truth," the police announced.

Police are continuing their investigations to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
