"Why do we need towers?" Veliaj: Today in Tirana there are no more

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj stated that today that Tirana does not have hotel rooms (linking it to the development of the Conference League final in Air Albania) and according to him, this is a proper answer for all those who think that for what we need towers in the capital.

During the meeting of the Municipal Council, Veliaj described the final of the Conference League as an extraordinary event for the city, which will serve the good of Tirana. Regarding ticket prices, he said that they can not be controlled, as he indicated and that the Municipality will provide free transport for all fans from Rinas to Tirana.

"We have a draft decision for the transfer of a fund that will serve for the organization, transport and decoration of the city, related to the final of the Conference League, an extraordinary event that brings a lot of business to the city. We do not have the battle with only one character in FSHF, but with all the collective hysteria that grips us when we have to develop this city. This is where the day came when the city no longer has hotel rooms. For all those cynical and skeptical professionals who say what we need these towers, here we are today! Tirana has no more rooms!

You have noticed that the same newspapers that said that the final will go to Athens, are the same ones that curse. Most of them do not understand a basic thing: when a hotel is introduced to a global service, such as Booking.com, the building and mortgage may be yours, but the hotel's right to enter the market is given to the algorithm of application, ie travel agencies that make bookings. The culture we curse ourselves on must end. They are the ones who say they are raising prices. The payment we make to bring 40 to 100 thousand people to Tirana, is actually a very small percentage of the payment they will leave in our city. Therefore, we are offering free bus transport from Rinas to Tirana. So, we will enjoy the success as much as possible ", said Veliaj in the meeting of the Municipal Council.
