Two shots to the face and three to the body took the life of the 37-year-old Albanian, Beni Arshiaj, in the yard of his apartment in Oratoio, where the victim lived together with his wife and their two minor children.
It is suspected that the perpetrator was hiding in the back of the house and ambushed the 37-year-old, waiting until he arrived in the yard with his van.
From the investigations, it turns out that the killer approached Beni Arshiaj, who worked as a mason and gardener in Italy, and shot him dead.
The 37-year-old did not have time to react, except to try to leave in the passenger seat, but the effort was in vain.
Meanwhile, the motives of the crime are still unknown and the Italian police are investigating all the leads, from involvement in drug trafficking, to prostitution and blood feud according to the Canon.
Therefore, the past of his family members is being investigated by the police. According to his friends and relatives, the victim was a very good, hard-working man who had no problems with anyone.
It also turns out that no crime was committed, neither by the victim nor by his family. While the Italian authorities are collaborating with the Albanian ones to unravel the serious crime.
The house of Beni Arshiaj (whose real name is Rezart) overlooks Via di Oratoio and is almost opposite the church.
Witnesses have seen the perpetrators leaving and according to them, there were two of them and they fled the scene on a scooter.
Meanwhile, the suspected vehicle used by drug addicts was found in Ospedaletto and was found to have been stolen at the beginning of September.
Opposite the entrance of the 37-year-old's house is a building with a camera located on the ground floor. However, the owner noticed a detail that the police are investigating.
There is a gap in the security camera footage from Saturday evening to 10pm on Sunday, when the crime took place.
It is learned that the security camera started filming only an hour after the assassination of the Albanian. And this detail is being investigated by the police, who turned off the security camera in the house of the victim's neighbor.
The Albanian had been living in this area for 4-5 years. His wife Inxhi Hysaj, whom everyone calls Ina, was questioned by the police yesterday morning. After leaving the police station, he headed to a cousin's house where he had left the children.
Afterwards, Ina Hysaj returned home accompanied by a group of relatives, including her brother Dorian, who came to Oratoio from Germany where he lives, the country where Ina and Ben met.
It is reported that on Sunday, the family had lunch in a restaurant and the woman and the two children returned home.
While the 37-year-old first went to wash the van and then to a cousin's house to do some construction work.
She was waiting for him to come back for dinner and then the shooting. The victim's wife thought someone was setting off fireworks a few meters from the door.
"She got scared," said Florat Vershaj, a friend of the victim, "but it didn't come out." Then a neighbor knocked on the door and, at that moment, saw her husband dead in the front seat of the van."
A scene which was also witnessed by the son amid the screams and desperate cries of his mother, but without being able to extend his hand to touch his parent for the last time.
