Drug trafficking from Albania to Finland. This was the activity of four criminal groups with Albanian leaders that was dismantled thanks to the cooperation between the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and Finnish justice authorities.

Two of the leaders of the criminal groups are from Vlora. It has also been discovered that the other two leaders of this group are from Kuçova and Berat, but live in the capital.

The operation has been ongoing for the last 24 hours, while only nine of the Albanians have been arrested.

One of those wanted is suspected of being abroad.

One of the people involved in this criminal activity turns out to have a non-criminal profile, a history teacher in Albania.

This is the first time that an Albanian criminal group has focused on trafficking synthetic drugs.

The 11 people against whom the security measure was issued are Albanians, one of whom is abroad. They have previously been convicted in Finland.

The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, during the press conference, shared another detail that impressed him.

"We were impressed that there are groups that focus on selling synthetic drugs. So far we have seen that there has been cocaine, heroin, marijuana, it is the first time that they are also focused on synthetic drugs. There are large quantities of synthetic drugs, we have even seized ecstasy and we all know the danger that these types of drugs pose to the consumer."

Further, Dumani said that the "heads" of the criminal group preferred to direct their activities from Albania, while their bases were in Finland.

"The typology is like this, they had their bases in Finland and periodically sent Albanians who went to the bases and started selling. The cooperation has been very intense ," said Dumani.
