The State Police has informed citizens to delete and not take any action against some messages coming from mainly foreign numbers, but also from people whose WhatsApp may have been hacked.
"The State Police appeals to those citizens who have fallen prey to these SMS messages to report to the State Police offices, to the Cyber Crime structures, to each Local Police Directorate, to report the cases, with the aim of identifying and punishing the perpetrators of this illegal activity," the police announced.
The blue uniforms say that the messages they receive ask you to vote or register for various fictitious events. They claim that after registering, the voter or person who clicks will receive various benefits.
"The messages aim to direct account holders towards fraudulent links, the ultimate goal of which is to unfairly take possession of the profiles on the WhatsApp communication platform of the deceived persons," the police announced.
According to investigations, several cases have been identified so far where disguised messages have been found on the WhatsApp communication platform.
