Fatmir Mataj , the father of 33-year-old Ramazan Mataj , who was executed by a hail of bullets in a car on the evening of January 4, has recounted the last conversation he had with his son, a few hours before he left the apartment never to return.

The victim's father confessed that the last communication with his son was when the 33-year-old was leaving the apartment and told him that he was 'going to meet someone' . 

He added that he called his son, but Ramazan did not answer the phone because he was dead.

'He didn't answer my phone, not that he didn't pick up, but he was dead,' the father declared to "Albania Live".

Fatmir Mataj, with tears in his eyes, confessed that his son was waiting to get engaged and that he would leave for Germany after the papers came out, while emphasizing that his son had no conflicts with anyone.

He called on the state to investigate the incident, otherwise, he declared that he would 'wash it with blood if no intervention is made'.

We recall that the 33-year-old was executed inside the vehicle by a hail of bullets in the village of Dragoç on the evening of January 4 as he was returning to his apartment, where he was allegedly ambushed in an area without security cameras. However, his lifeless body was found on the morning of January 5 by a passerby who noticed the victim inside the car and notified the police.

Father's story: Last communication at 8:20 PM when he left the house. He told me 'I'm going to meet someone', I don't know anything else.

He didn't answer my phone, not that he didn't pick up, but he was dead.

We have not had any confusion, nor any debate with anyone. I ask the state not to open more victims, to put its hand on its heart, to find out about these problems, because we are not aware of anything. I have not suspected anything, I have not been afraid because when you do not have a debate with anyone. We were just for a piece of bread.

The boy was working in Montenegro, waiting for his engagement and letters from Germany.

That was his life. I ask the state for justice, not to create more victims, not to take the wrong path with words.

When justice doesn't come, I'll find it myself. When I don't put my hand on my heart, the state will solve it itself, I'll wash it with blood if the state doesn't intervene. I call on the state to catch the perpetrators as soon as possible. We have no doubts. The boy told me everything, told me about everything, I'm aware of everything he did. He didn't take a single step without my word. We were family and regular people. He stayed in Belgium for 1 year, came for the papers, threw the papers in Germany and until the papers came out, he fled to Montenegro.

What are these phone networks, I've read them, please, we are not people who deal with dirty things. We have no connection with anyone, just work and home. We demand justice from the state, so that there are no more victims. I will look for it myself if it is not found, and it will not take long.

When we, the family, were not aware, I have no doubt that I would have acted within 24 hours. I would have done my job. No knife, no pistol, nothing was found, he was unprepared. We were informed about the murder of the boy.
