The trial for the imposition of a security measure against Julide Yazici, a 32-year-old Turkish woman arrested with the aim of extradition to Turkey, was held this Friday at the Tirana Court.

The court decided to let her go to prison, after she was arrested while vacationing in Saranda two days ago (recall that she had been on vacation in Albania a year earlier).

Yazici is an activist, journalist, and a person who has protested against Erdogan in Turkey.

She is reported to have been granted political asylum in France for political persecution in Turkey.

If Albania decides to extradite her to Turkey, the 32-year-old could face prison.

The 32-year-old is accused in Turkey of supporting terrorism.

But every person who is against Erdogan has been accused of these charges for years.

Therefore, Albania should think carefully before making a decision.

Even more so, if it is true that she has been granted political asylum in France.

Renowned journalist Enver Robelli writes that if Albania decides to extradite him, we would be dealing with a crime.

"If she has obtained political asylum in France, that is, in an EU country, where Albania wants to join, and therefore also respect the laws, values, and standards of the EU, then her extradition to Turkey would be a CRIME. And that: a CRIME of the Albanian state."

"I fear that the unprecedented servility of Albanian politicians, both in the past and now, could have fatal consequences for activists, who are flatly accused of "terrorism", without any facts," he writes.

According to him, the stance of the French Embassy in Tirana will be interesting:

"However, it would be interesting to know what the French Embassy in Tirana's position is on this case."

So far, this Embassy has not made any reaction.
