The head of the Chamber of Advocates, Maks Haxhia, has reacted after the release from prison of his colleague Ulian Bajrami.
Asked why the boycott of the hearings was not stopped after the lawyer's release from prison, Haxhiu said that this was not their intention.
He emphasized that the Chamber of Advocates made the decision to boycott criminal trials due, according to him, to the concepts that our fellow prosecutors and judges have in treating lawyers.
"Not all court proceedings were boycotted, but only criminal ones. The position of the Bar Association was moderate, measured and was not to get our colleague out of prison, but about the concepts that our colleagues, prosecutors and judges, have in treating lawyers. We do not feel equal in the process with the prosecutor, the court has positioned itself as one with the accusation. A principle of impartiality has been violated. It is absurd to think that the boycott is being postponed for a few days and the case was won or obstructed. The cup is full, if there is such a case, all processes will be abandoned for another month ," he declared.
