An Albanian drug lord exposed by the 'Daily Mail' boasting about tearing up rivals has been jailed.

Selamet Mehmetaj , who called himself "Djalli", was jailed for four-and-a-half years for running cannabis factories staffed by illegal immigrants that distributed millions of pounds worth of drugs a year across the UK.

The police investigation into him and his brother Dior, described by prosecutors as his 'right-hand man', came after he offered to sell quantities of cannabis to Mail reporters.

Mehmetaj continued to run his drug business and enjoy a playboy lifestyle. He was included in a twenty-minute interview on a show in Tirana, where Balkan showbiz stars usually appear, where the presenter drank champagne while a smiling Mehmetaj shamelessly denied any wrongdoing.

He also made a rap video, where he claimed to be 'number one' and 'big in this country' and how he would 'open guns' to protect friends.

The court heard how, despite making a fortune selling drugs, he paid two men who had arrived illegally in the UK just £100 a week each to work full-time in his two cannabis factories hidden in the suburban houses of North London./Taken from the Daily Mail
