A citizen, who is accused of threatening Prime Minister Edi Rama, was found guilty by the Tirana court.
Ivzi Hoxha, 62 years old, was sentenced to one year in prison for the crime of intimidation due to duty. The judge of the case, Kujtim Vranici, stated that due to the shortened trial, the sentence against Hoxha is reduced by one third and in the end, the suspect must serve eight months of imprisonment. "I ask for mercy from the court", said the defendant and I feel remorse.
But the prosecutor of the case emphasized that at the beginning of this year, the suspect publicly threatened the prime minister and his son during a live broadcast on "Ora News" television. Immediately after that, Hoxha was escorted to the police station where he was arrested.
He said he was stressed about ownership conflicts with the Municipality that would invest buildings on his land for those damaged by the earthquake. However, the prosecutor's office of Tirana insists that the prime minister's threat was real not only from the content of the sentences, but from the hatred shown in this broadcast.
As an analogous case, the prosecution brought the case of the Prime Minister of Italy Georgia Meloni, who was threatened via Twitter and for this the authorities arrested the author, Tch reports.
We remind you that during the live broadcast, Ivzi Hoxha expressed threatening words towards the boy, expressing revolt due to the demolition of his apartment in the 5 May area due to the social housing construction project.
