Lauren Spaho, a 20-year-old from Korça, was brutally murdered on May 8 in Karlstad, Sweden, by several people of Arab nationality. The victim's father, Alket Spaho, through tears, told the show "Pa Gjurmë" the details of this macabre event. He rejected the version published in the media earlier, while asserting that his son was killed on the city's pedestrian walkway.
"He was on the city's pedestrian walkway with his high school friends. The boy went in to break up the fight and was treacherously stabbed with a knife. The blow was fatal. He was in a coma for 24 hours and then died. It was on a boulevard, on the city's pedestrian street, It didn't happen in a discotheque as they say. I was informed by the Korca police. When they informed me, the boy was still alive, he was in a coma. I left for Macedonia, then he took me the doctor on the phone and told me that 'your son passed away'. I was refused a transit permit and I was unable to flee urgently to Sweden." says Lauren Spaho's father.
Alket Spaho called for justice, while announcing that if this thing is not put in place then he will do self-judgment.
"The citizens who hit my son are of foreign nationality, Arabs. They were in another school. 3 have been arrested, the main one was escaping to Norway. I have asked for maximum punishment for the persons because I do not want to judge myself. I will go to Sweden myself to continue the fight for justice." he said.
Also, the victim's father expresses his gratitude for the great support of the Albanians, since the cost required for the return of the body to the homeland is unaffordable for the Spaho family. Among the people who have helped him, he also mentioned Aishe Haklaj.
"I want to thank all the Albanians who have helped me, especially those in Sweden. One of those who contributed is Aishe Haklaj and I thank her immensely. I have communicated with her. In general, all the Albanians have helped. I am grateful to all."
