After the tragic event that shocked public opinion and the judicial system, Judge Astrit Kalaja 's colleagues made a symbolic and touching gesture in the hall where he held his last session.
In room no. 3 of the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, where the October 6 session that ended fatally took place, at the table where Judge Kalaja usually sat, colleagues have placed a bouquet of white flowers, as a sign of respect, memory and pain.
This simple but powerful gesture comes as a tribute from colleagues to a man who lost his life in the line of duty.

Astrit Kalaja was shot inside the courtroom at the Court of Appeal by 30-year-old Elvis Shkambi.
For this incident, the police have arrested three people, the young man, his uncle, Gjon Shkambi , and the Court's security guard, after failing to take action to check the people when they entered.
