Shocking details come to light after the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja at the Court of Appeal in Tirana. The perpetrator's uncle, Gjon Shkambi, had publicly warned about the property conflict during a television show, threatening to blow up the building of the former Reserve School in the "Skanderbeg" neighborhood.
Ironically, the show was broadcast on October 6th of last year, like a year ago today.
"I'll find a way to release it. How to mine it in all 4 corners because it's my property. I have a certificate for it. I'll blow you all up. I'm warning you, I'll blow you all up," says Shkambi during the confrontation with the person who was speaking about this issue.
The serious incident occurred on Monday afternoon, when 30-year-old Elvis Shkambi shot the judge three times after he ruled against his uncle. He also fired at the opposing parties in the trial, father and son, Ragip and Ervis Kurtaj.
After the crime, he surrendered to the police patrol outside the courthouse. It remains a mystery how the courthouse security was breached and an armed person entered.
