Orjana Gremi, 32 years old, took her baby's life just a few days after giving birth to her in the Shkodra maternity hospital.

Orjana Gremi, who was handcuffed by the police this Saturday, wrapped her baby in a plastic blanket and threw it into the Kir river. The baby was only 5 days old.

It is learned that the young woman was staying with her uncle in Shkodra, while at the moment the paternity of the children remains unclear.

The doctor of the Shkodra hospital, speaking to the journalists, confessed that the 32-year-old woman had refused to register the paternity of the child. She had asked them to hand over her newborn son to the Orphanage, but on January 4, when the doctors performed the procedures, she refused. He took the baby and left, to leave it later in a place called Postribe.

For the police, she said that she committed the act because she couldn't hold it. The police authorities discovered that on the day of the crime, she went to the bank with the baby's birth certificate, without the father, to withdraw the baby bonus of 40 thousand lek given by the state.

Gremi is charged with intentional homicide.
