Despite the declarations and pledges to move towards online services, which was expected to bring a reduction in counters and administration employees, their number continues to grow year after year.

According to Instat data, the number of employees in the state reached over 182 thousand employees at the end of the third quarter of 2022, over 2 thousand more than in the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, this indicator was even higher at the end of the first 6 months of last year, with around 185.7 thousand employed in the state.

Since 2014, the state administration has been 'bloated' with employees, growing at a rapid rate. In that period, the number of employees in the state was over 163.8 thousand in total, but since that time the data of the Institute of Statistics show that they have expanded by more than 18,200 employees.

Although during the three mandates of the Rama government, the number of ministries has been reduced, it seems that this has not been reflected in the structure of the number of employees.

The biggest increase in employment in the state is observed especially during election periods. Referring to the statistics, only in 2021, when the general parliamentary elections took place, the administration was increased by more than 7,800 employees./Tch
