New details have been learned from the serious incident in Shkodër, where the mother threw her child into the river.

The boy was born on the 30th of July and the young woman registered him in the maternity hospital of Shkodra without a father. From the preliminary data, Orjana Gremi does not have mental health problems.

Doctor Sajmir Selmanaj said that the 32-year-old woman was sent to the hospital by her work colleagues and that they were the ones who convinced her not to give birth to the child in the orphanage.

"On December 30, 2022, she was brought by her work colleagues to the emergency room of the regional hospital of Shkodra, where she did not indicate what her concern was until the moment the waters burst.

She was brought to the Gynecology ward and was alone. From the first moment, we were afraid that he would leave the child in the maternity ward.

We notified the police and the psychologist and he was assisted by the psychologist all the time. Her birth was on the 30th around 11 o'clock.

Her birth was normal and without any health problems.

Her colleagues where she worked in a shoe factory came, who brought her gifts and money and convinced her not to leave the child in the orphanage but to keep it.

On the 4th, she was discharged from the hospital where, after completing all the procedures, she received the signed child's bonus check. 

He left the hospital by taxi and from that moment we know nothing more. We know that he did not want to reveal the name of the child's father.

As for her and the baby's health, it has been good all along", said the doctor.
