Italian justice has finally sentenced Mois Habilaj to 15 years and 5 months in prison. The Italian Supreme Court has rejected the request, upholding the existing sentence.

He is accused of drug trafficking and structured criminal group. Moisi Habilaj was arrested in 2017 by Italian police along with 11 other people who were transporting drugs from Albania to Sicily.

He spent more than 3 years in detention awaiting trial, but at the request of his lawyer, the security measure was eased to "house arrest". Along with Habilaj, 11 other people ended up in handcuffs.

His arrest caused a political "earthquake" in Albania. The investigation was further expanded to include former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, who is also in prison serving a sentence. Tahiri was a cousin of Habilaj and is accused of favoring them.
