The Border Police in Kapshtica have cracked down on a smuggling case, arresting two citizens and seizing a significant amount of goods illegally imported into Albanian territory.

The services of the Korça Local Directorate for Border and Migration have intensified controls at the green border and at the border crossing points. As a result, at the entrance to Albania, at the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point, the following were stopped for detailed control:

A vehicle driven by citizen D. Ç., 37 years old, resident of Papër, Elbasan;

A bus driven by citizen AK, 58 years old, resident of Drenova, Korça.

During the check:

Food products and medicinal plant products, undeclared at customs, were found hidden in D. Ç.'s vehicle;

In the AK bus, a number of cult icons, quantities of medication, two mobile phones and some vehicle equipment were discovered, hidden inside the door, which were also undeclared.

At the end of the actions, the two leaders were arrested:

D. Ç. for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of licensed goods" and "Smuggling of other goods".

AK for the criminal offense "Smuggling of other goods".

The contraband goods and the vehicle were seized as material evidence.

Also, citizens EZ, 30 years old, resident of Korça; R. Ç., 35 years old, resident of Pogradec; and GB, 35 years old, resident of Elbasan, were criminally prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Illegal crossing of the state border".
