A 29-year-old Albanian woman was shot to death by her ex-husband in Canada.
29-year-old Savannah Kulla was killed by her 38-year-old ex-partner Anthony Deschepper on Tuesday in the parking lot of a shopping mall.
The mother of the young Albanian woman, speaking to the media, recounted her daughter's last moments.
Karen Kulla said her daughter went to meet the 38-year-old because he wanted to spend time with their 17-month-old daughter.
But, during the meeting, the 38-year-old shot and killed him.
"I just can't believe she's gone," Karen said. "She was so beautiful, smart, and we loved her so much."
On Tuesday, around 2 p.m., Police responded to reports of a woman shot in the parking lot of a shopping center.
The 29-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Karen added that Savannah was a mother of four and had parted ways with Deschepper several months ago.
“He told me about a month ago: 'If I stay with him, he will kill me,'” the mother recounted.
According to her testimony, the incident began after an argument over a diaper bag.
“I heard him say, 'I need the diaper bag,' and she said, 'I'll get it.' He said, 'You forgot the damn bag,' and then he shot her three times,” Karen continued.
After the incident, authorities confronted the perpetrator, who was shot dead by police during the pursuit.
It is learned that Deschepper had a criminal record and was wanted for firearms attacks in 2023.
The mother said Savannah was afraid of her ex-partner, but believed he no longer carried a gun.
The mother also revealed that her ex-partner had constantly harassed her on the phone, to the point that Savannah had changed her number several times, but he continued to bother her.
"He called her hundreds of times a day. Sometimes she would answer just to say 'leave me alone,'" she concluded.
Canadian police are continuing their investigations into this serious incident, while the Albanian community in Canada has expressed their condolences for the tragic loss of Savannah Kulla .
