A strong storm hit the city of Elbasan and a large part of the territory of other municipalities in the region this Friday afternoon, bringing intense rainfall, hail, and strong winds.

The rain began around 2:50 PM and within minutes turned into extreme weather, significantly hindering the movement of citizens and vehicle traffic.

In some areas of the city, roads have been covered by large amounts of water, while drivers have been forced to drive at very low speeds due to lack of visibility and flooding of road axes.

Even pedestrians have found it almost impossible to move, as torrential rains and hail have hit with high intensity.

Strong winds have increased the risk in some areas, while bad weather has created problematic situations in traffic and in the daily lives of residents.

So far, no injuries have been reported, while authorities are calling on citizens to avoid unnecessary movements and drivers to exercise maximum caution while driving, as the rainfall continues to be intense.

The storm has affected not only the city of Elbasan, but also other areas of the region, bringing an immediate change in atmospheric conditions after the high temperatures that have dominated over the past few days.
