The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was seen entering the administrative premises holding the novel "Mr. President", a well-known work of world literature.

The book, written by Nobel Prize winner Miguel Ángel Asturias, is considered one of the masterpieces of magical realism and a strong satire on authoritarian regimes. The work is inspired by the period of the dictatorship of President Manuel Estrada Cabrera in Guatemala, a time characterized by censorship and political fear.

"Mr. President" deals with the mechanisms of dictatorial power in a surrealist style, building a dark portrait of the psychological terror and oppression that authoritarian regimes exert on the individual and society. The book has been banned for many years in several historical periods due to its content critical of power.
