The Criminal Court of Appeals has reportedly issued a security measure of "prison arrest" for the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

BKH officers took Veliaj from the office and sent him to the Security Block at "Mine Peza".

Veliaj is accused of passive corruption and money laundering, while an official announcement from the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution is awaited.

The measure for him was set by judge Erjon Bani.
