The Nation's Road

The National Road is facing a high flow of vehicles, mainly from Kosovo, as thousands of citizens are traveling towards the Albanian coast.

Long queues have formed at the toll booth in Kalimash, especially during peak hours.

To cope with the influx, authorities have taken measures such as increasing traffic police patrols and opening additional counters by concessionaires. These interventions have helped in managing traffic.

Drivers say they are waiting for a few minutes, mainly to make the payment, and that this delay is normal given the usual summer season flow.

The National Road remains the main connection between Kosovo and the Albanian coast, and every summer it faces an increased load. Although the situation is expected, citizens and experts are looking for longer-term solutions to facilitate movement on this strategic axis, especially during the tourist season.
