Five police officers at the Tirana Regional Traffic Police Station have been suspended from duty after being accused of "Misuse of duty".

They are: Inspector Albi Meta, Euklid Meci, Ilirjan Kalemi, Gerald Shabani, Jurgen Muha.

It is learned that they were discovered by the investigations launched after the red-handed arrest of two Traffic Police employees on 03.03.2022.

"From the analysis of the data/photographs taken by the seized radar, evidence and facts were administered that the above police officers, at different times and places, during the exercise of their functional duty as a verification agent at the Tirana Road Traffic Commissioner's Office , have misused their duties by punishing with administrative measures in an arbitrary manner, as well as by falsifying the data fixed by the radar in violation of the law, resulting in considerable economic damage and infringement of the legitimate interests of the state", the announcement states.
