The court has left 30-year-old Claudio Çobaj in prison, who shot his mother, Donika Çobaj, with a knife several times, leaving her injured.

Sources for "Gazeta Panorama" said that the 30-year-old claimed during the court session that he had gone out and consumed alcohol that evening.

He claimed that when he returned home, his mother asked him to account for staying out at night and consuming alcohol.

During the argument and under the influence of drink, he shot his mother with a knife in the body and neck.

The injured woman received treatment at the Fier Regional Hospital and was sent to Tirana for specialized medical assistance.

The judge of the case, Taulant Banushi, after hearing the prosecutor Hysen Hajasllari and the defendant, imposed the security measure of arrest and imprisonment on the suspect.

The security measure took place without lawyers, as the latter have boycotted court sessions because they do not agree with the new court map.
