Two people have fallen into the handcuffs of the Albanian police, on account of the Italian authorities. Official sources from the State Police informed that within the framework of the "Alias" operation, the citizen Dritan Idrizi alias Dritan Xhepexhiu was captured and imprisoned and within of the operation "The zone", the citizen Elion Bejo was captured and imprisoned. They are accused of being part of a cocaine and heroin trafficking gang.

Police notification

The operations, from the Directorate of the Special Operational Force of the DPPSh, in cooperation with Interpol Tirana, with DVP Tirana and with DVP Gjirokastër. The 2 citizens announced as international wanted, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", by the Court of Brescia, were detained for the purpose of extradition to Italy.

One of these citizens was detained in Tirana, during the "Alias" operation. The other citizen was detained in Përmet, during the operation "The Zone".

As a result of the quick, coordinated and professional actions of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force of the DPPSh, as well as the exchange of information, between Interpol Tirana and Italian partners, within 24 hours, in cooperation with the local police of Tirana and Gjirokastra, 2 operations have been finalized for the capture and imprisonment of the citizens announced as international wanted by Interpol Rome. Specifically:

- in Tirana, as part of the "Alias" operation, citizen DI alias D. Xh., 37 years old, was captured and imprisoned. The Court of Brescia has assigned the 37-year-old, the security measure "Arrest in prison", as it is accused that during the period 01.10.2019-31.01.2020, in cooperation with other citizens, he trafficked large quantities of the narcotic substance cocaine, mainly in the cities of Bergamo and Brescia;

- in Përmet, as part of the "The Zone" operation, citizen EB, 40 years old, was captured and imprisoned. The Court of Brescia has assigned the 40-year-old the security measure "Arrest in prison", as he is accused that during the period 07.10.2019-26.10.2019, in cooperation with other citizens, he sold narcotics heroin and cocaine, in doses, worth about 17,000 euros.

Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome, to extradite the 2 citizens to Italy.

The procedural materials were passed to the respective prosecutors for further actions.
