19-year-old Albanian arrested in Italy for distributing cocaine

Running a red light has 'betrayed' a 19-year-old Albanian in Italy, who was discovered involved in drug trafficking.

The Perugia Carabinieri arrested him after checking his vehicle. The incident took place in Ponte Valleceppi, where the teenager was found with eleven packets of cocaine, with a total weight of 7.6 grams. The young man was driving a car when the officers noticed the violation.

His failure to comply with the traffic code allowed the Carabinieri to stop and arrest him. A search of his person and vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine hidden inside the car, Italian media reported.

1,500 euros in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking, were also found.
