The drug "GHB"

Nine tourists were arrested in the last 10 days in Dhërmi, whose primary job in our country was the distribution of strong synthetic narcotics. Among those arrested are 4 Englishmen, 1 Spaniard, 1 Brazilian, 1 Italian and 2 Argentines. They were found with significant amounts of doses of 'GHB' - Gamma Hydroxybutyrate, a drug with a pleasurable effect up to sexual abuse, which, according to criminalist Ervin Karamuço, can also bring death.

"GHB is a narcotic that we call the narcotic of sexual abuse, of rape, because in addition to euphoria and excitement of the body, it also gives hallucinations, in which it gives messages that you want to enter into a relationship with a partner, while these are misunderstood and then through them these young people are abused" - said Karamuço for Report TV.

But what do young people risk with the use of this narcotic substance that is rare in our country.

"He then goes into a state of coma, cardiac arrest and even death. They are depressants, when mixed with alcohol they double, triple their effect and this makes it more serious" - said Karamuço, criminal expert.

The production of GHB is simple and its composition is the combination of several detergents.

"They can be produced with some types of chemical detergents that we clean the toilets in our homes, and their preparation is easy to learn even on some pages where there are instructions from the Internet, but they are dangerous," said Ervin Karamuço.

Tourists have been able to smuggle the drug GHB through our border crossings and risk turning it into a trend.

"Therefore, the border control has failed and it has been left to the criminal police officers, especially from Vlora, to monitor and arrest them. This trend, which seems temporary, can turn into a real phenomenon, sustainable even for local use" - said Karamuço.

Albanians, in most cases, are users of cannabis sativa and cocaine, but they are not frequent users of this narcotic substance.
