"I just wanted to scare him" - The 52-year-old who failed to kill

The Elbasan Court imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on Poli Boriç, accused of attempted murder of Ermir Kërtez, in an assassination attempt that remained an attempt. 

The prosecution requested prison for the 52-year-old on charges of "Attempted Murder" and "Unlicensed Weapon Possession."

Through his specially appointed lawyer, Boriçi is reported to have stated, in the closed-door session, that he did not want to kill Kërtez, but to intimidate him, reports TCH.

The serious incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in a bar in Elbasan as 52-year-old Poli Boriçi put a pistol to Ermir Kërtezi's head while the latter ran away.

It is suspected that the perpetrator's gun jammed at the last moment. He was arrested just minutes after the incident.

In his initial statement to the police, Boriçi stated that he wanted to take revenge on his brother, whom, according to him, Kërtezi had injured 15 years ago, leaving him paralyzed.

On the other hand, 50-year-old Ermir Kërtezi is reported to have declared to prosecutors that relations between the two neighboring families had been normalized for years.
