The police officer who worked as a bodyguard is suspected of helping Sokrat Vata

Police sources indicate that Moisid Matushaj, who works as a bodyguard in the same group of the "Orange Elite Security" company, is suspected of having been involved in the conflict that preceded the murder of the French citizen and of having helped the perpetrator leave the scene.

According to sources, Matushaj works as a bodyguard for the suspected perpetrator Sokrat Vata, A2 reports. Meanwhile, Matushaj is also an employee of the State Police, with the duty of investigation specialist at the Local Directorate of Border and Migration in Gjirokastër.

29-year-old Sokrat Vata from Hasi is suspected of stabbing 20-year-old Miguel Mendez from France to death this morning.

Immediately after the crime, the perpetrator was removed from the scene by two Turks, a boy and a girl. The latter put the 29-year-old in the trunk of a car and then drove away.

However, the police had tapped the author's phone and followed him through radio waves to Fier, where they arrested him.

It is also learned that the suspected perpetrator worked as a bodyguard at the "Proncipot" bar near the beach, where the incident occurred.

The "apple of contention" was the harassment of a girl by the French citizen, who was in the company of several foreigners.

Another foreign citizen, who was in the company of the Frenchman, was injured as a result of the conflict.
