One of the main hot spots continues to be on Dajti Mountain, in Tirana, where the fire remains active on both sides of the ridge. The operation to isolate it is continuing with operational forces and 50 AF personnel, supported by a helicopter. According to the authorities, there is no danger to residential areas.
One of the largest operations is underway in Gurë-Lurë, Dibra, with 180 municipal forces, 14 police officers, 30 members of the Albanian Armed Forces and two Air Tractor aircraft. Open corridors have helped prevent the fire from spreading to homes.
The fires in Bruç i Matit, Lufaj i Mirdita and Fushë-Lajë i Pukës also continue to be active. In Fushë-Lajë, the wind has favored the spread of the flames towards the forests of Tërbun and Gjegjan, while firefighting forces, AF personnel, Forest Service employees, volunteers and aerial vehicles are engaged in the field.
In Qafë Helmës, on the Dibër-Bulqizë border, the fire has been extinguished on the Bulqizë side, while it remains active in the direction of Selishte. Here too, authorities report that there is no danger to residential areas.
Meanwhile, in Tirana's Vakumone, the situation is under control and the outbreak has been isolated, while the Priska area continues to be monitored.
Authorities say the situation is generally being managed through the engagement of ground forces and air assets, with priority given to isolating active outbreaks and protecting populated areas.
The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation throughout the territory, in coordination with prefectures, municipalities and other Civil Protection structures.
