The State Police was part of an international mega-operation codenamed "ICARO.AL", with the aim of destroying an Italian-Albanian criminal group that was trafficking cocaine from South America to Europe.
As part of this mega-operation in our country, 5 people were arrested, who turned out to be part of Suel Çela's group.
Meanwhile, in Spain, it was possible to arrest Gerardo Pashja alias Astrit Pashja, 48 years old, with a criminal record.
According to Italian media, it is learned that the investigations to dismantle this criminal group began in the second half of 2020, with the discovery of intensive drug distribution activity within several entertainment venues on Lake Garda and the identification of the supplier of cocaine that was sold to customers during the evenings.
Based on this fact, investigators followed the trail of the Italian-Albanian criminal group, which was importing large quantities of drugs from South America to Europe.
In 2021, one of the suspects was caught with 350 kg of cocaine.
At the head of this criminal group were the two Çela brothers, Suel and Mario Çela , whose gang is considered by the Italians to be one of the most dangerous Albanian ones.
They ran the operation of importing and trading narcotics and collecting the proceeds. It is learned that cocaine was transported to our country through the bus line. The two Çela brothers had established connections with the bus drivers who operated the "Breshia-Elbasan" line.
It is even said that Suel and Mario Çela had gone to Colombia, Ecuador and Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, to make deals with drug suppliers.
