Aerial footage has emerged as the Guardia di Finanza chased small boats laden with cannabis as they headed for a sailing vessel awaiting them on the open sea.
The three small speedboats were driven by the three Albanians Arbër Saraseli, 31 years old, Saverjo Imeraj, 22 years old, and Qemal Pekmezi, 19 years old. The drug was taken by two Ukrainians Bychkovi Serhii, 43 years old and Senkevych Serhii, 62 years old, in a sailing ship and they were destined for Italy, but they could not traffic it, as they were stopped by the Guardia di Finanza in the waters of the Italian coast.
The anti-drug operation "The Eye" was developed by the Albanian authorities in cooperation with the Guardia di Finanza in the bay of Arusha, in Karaburun. As a result of the operation, 992 kg of cannabis divided into 153 packages were seized.
The reason why the two parties are reserved to make public the images of the luxury yacht that was loaded with drugs is said to be the extended investigations being carried out in Italy to find its owner.
According to the statements of the two arrested Ukrainians, the boat was "given to them by an Italian citizen and they were told to "go to Albania".
