19 years after the killing of Colonel Gani Malushi, journalist Artan Hoxha remembered the fallen colonel in the line of duty through a Facebook status. Hoxha writes about former colonel Gani Malushi that men are honored and not mourned.
Journalist Hoxha's post:
MEN are honored, not mourned...
19 years have passed since August 8, 2003, when Colonel Gani Malushi (May 20, 1953 - August 7, 2003) gave his last farewell to the "Martyr of the Motherland".
The 50-year-old commissioner was seriously injured on August 6, 2003, and would pass away just one day later, on August 7, 2003.
Malushi was shot with a Kalashnikov while traveling with his driver, in an organized assassination attempt, just a few meters away from the Durres Police Department. Gani Malushi was proclaimed "Martyr of the Fatherland" on November 16, 2004.
