992 kg of cannabis were seized in Vlora, 3 Albanians and 2 Ukrainians arrested,

The State Police issued a statement to the media after the operation of the police of Vlora and the Guardia di Finanzia, where 992 kg of narcotics, suspected marijuana, were seized.

The police stated that 3 Albanians and two Ukrainians were arrested, while another person from Vlora was declared wanted.

The international police mega-operation coded "SYRI" is successfully completed.

The operation, by the Local Directorate of the Vlora Police, in cooperation with the Guardia di Finanza, Delta Force, the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Vlora, the Department for Border and Migration and the Department for Criminal Police, in the State Police.

The operation was conducted by air, sea and land.

About 1 ton of suspected narcotic marijuana was seized.

3 citizens are arrested by the Police of Vlora, and 1 more is declared wanted.

Following the successive operations carried out by the State Police structures, for the suppression of attempts to cultivate and traffic narcotics, based on the information obtained on the operational route by the investigative structures of the State Police, as well as thanks to the exchange in real time of information and coordination of actions with the GDF and the Italian Interforce Office, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Judicial District Court, another international anti-drug operation was successfully completed.

The Local Directorate of the Vlora Police, in cooperation with the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Directorate for the Border and Migration Vlora, Delta Force, the Department for the Border and Migration and the Criminal Police Department, in the State Police, based on the information received from the investigative structures of the Police of the State that some citizens had transported to a boat, a quantity of narcotics, organized and successfully completed the coded operation "SYRI".

About 250 police forces were involved in the operation, which carried out checks and pursuits from land, sea and from the air with GDF and Frontex helicopters. The controls were finalized with the blocking of the vessel that had the narcotics and the arrest of the persons who had organized its trafficking.

As a result of the operation, the State Police services made it possible to identify the persons suspected of having transported the narcotics, with 3 vessels, to another vessel in the depths of the sea.

The Vlora Police caught and arrested in flagrante delicto the citizens with the initials AS, 31 years old, SI, 22 years old and QP, 19 years old, as well as issued a wanted notice for the citizen GL, 33 years old, all four living in Vlora. .

Also, during the operation, the citizens with the initials BS, 43 years old and SS, 62 years old, both with Ukrainian citizenship, were caught red-handed, in Italian waters, by the Guardia di Finanza.

The citizens arrested in Vlora, in cooperation with each other, on 07.08.2022, around 15:00, are suspected of having transported the suspected narcotic substance marijuana, with 3 speedboats to another vessel, in the depths of the sea waters. Jon and then they started it towards Italy.

As a result of the development of the joint operation, by the authorities of the Guardia di Finanza, the vessel in which the narcotics were transported was captured in Italian waters. The GDF services, during the control on board the vessel, seized a quantity of 992 kg of suspected marijuana narcotics, divided into 153 packages.

Following the operation, during the control at the residence of the citizen SI, in Vlora, the services of the DVP Vlora found and seized a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis, seized 3 boats (boats), 3 mobile devices and 2 vehicles.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Vlora, the work continues for the complete documentation of this case, the capture and imprisonment of other persons implicated in the trafficking of narcotics.

This operation is a clear indication of the very good cooperation with the GDF, the Interforce Office of the Italian Police and the Italian Police Officers at the QNOD, as well as the measures taken by the State Police to prevent and combat drug trafficking.
