As three weeks have passed since the launch of the announcement to compete for the new head of SPAK, the High Prosecution Council has informed that so far there is no interested candidate from the ranks of the prosecutors.

For a statement to the media, KLP stated that there is still no candidate to replace the current Head of SPAK, whose mandate is ending.

"Until today, 10.10.2022, at the KLP, no prosecutor has expressed interest in the position of the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office. As soon as we have requests for candidacy, you will be notified."

The deadline for application and submission of candidacies is November 2, 2022, when candidates must not only submit a CV but also demonstrate experience in organized crime and corruption and leadership performance.

The mandate of the current head of SPAK, Arben Kraja, expires on December 18. This is also the date when KLP will choose the new leader.
