"He was rubbing his chest and lowering his head"/ Testimony of the
Lear Kurti

The testimonies given to the investigators of the officers who accompanied Lear Kurtin to the police station on the evening of October 19, where the latter died in unclear circumstances, have been revealed.

Sources told "News24" that AMP has interrogated about 10 officers.

It is learned that from the three provided testimonies, it is said that the officers never saw the 32-year-old ingesting narcotics.

Testimonies :

"Around 11:07 p.m., together with two colleagues, we were patrolling by car on "Riza Čuka" street and at one point we noticed a young man, who was walking and did some suspicious actions. Based on this I asked him for verification. I asked him for identification, but he didn't have one. I then asked him if he had any illegal items with him and then when I got out of the vehicle, the young man ran away. After following him for 2 minutes, I managed to stop him in front of a market. After I stopped him, both I and the young man fell to the ground and at this moment my two colleagues also approached. We raised the young man to his feet and asked for the help of the patrols. We sat him down on the sidewalk and saw that the young man was having difficulty breathing. I immediately contacted the local directorate and asked for an ambulance and to make the young man feel better we put him in the car, not in the car I had in service, but in the other car. He began to feel better and we told him to calm down, while the patrols with code 20 and 22 arrived. At this moment the other colleague put the handcuffs on him and then we went back to check the road to see if he had thrown illegal items or not, but no we found, while the other patrol sent the young man to the police station", says one of the testimonies.

Then follows the testimony of another officer who says: "The young man rubbed his chest and lowered his head. When we arrived at the police station, the young man was clinging to the car seat and did not want to get out, then we took him out of the car with difficulty and as soon as he got out of there he started shaking, clenching his teeth and making uncontrolled movements. We immediately tried to give him help by trying to open his mouth and held his head back so that he wouldn't hit the tiles, as he was making uncontrolled movements, we put an iron rod in his hand as we thought of signs of epilepsy. My colleagues notified the ambulance and seeing his condition, we put him in the police vehicle and sent him to the trauma hospital as the ambulance was delayed".

From the testimony of the officers, some key moments:

- The officer declares that when he stopped the young man, they both fell to the ground. He started to feel bad and to be helped he got into the car to sit down. Statement contradicting AMP who said the young man felt bad at the police station.

- He was sent to the police station by another patrol and not by the patrol that stopped him.

- The young man was held by force on the car seat and did not want to get out and take him to the police station.

- In the evidence, the officers say that the ambulance was delayed and therefore they sent him to the hospital themselves, while sources say that the ambulance went to police station no. 3

- In the statement AMP says he felt bad at the police station, while officers have testified that, from the place where he was stopped, he felt bad and was short of breath.
